Klara Fashions operates out of Tughlakabad Extension in South Delhi. We are located at RZ-54/1, specifically on the 4th floor. The building belongs to Claramma and we are in Gali No. 1. Climbing up to the 4th floor every day is a bit of a workout, especially in the Delhi summer heat. The stairs are narrow and it’s a long way up if you forget something in your car. Once you’re up there, though, it’s a bit away from the street noise. Tughlakabad is a very crowded neighborhood with narrow lanes and houses built right next to each other. Our space is filled with sewing machines and cutting tables. It’s not a polished showroom; it’s a workspace where the actual making happens. We’ve got piles of cloth and bags of buttons in different corners. The lighting isn’t the best, so we use extra lamps when we’re doing the detailed work. The 4th floor gives us a bit of a view of the roofs around us, which is nice during break time. We just do our work and try to stay on schedule. It’s a lot of manual effort and long hours spent hunched over tables. We don’t have a fancy corporate identity. We’re just a small team in an extension of South Delhi trying to keep Klara Fashions running smoothly from this little 4th-floor room. It’s busy and cramped, but the work gets finished.
