Military Mital Crafts

Out here in West Azad Nagar, specifically in Street Number 3 of Krishna Nagar, you will find our workshop at A-111. It’s a residential-looking area that’s actually full of small businesses like ours. We work with metal, so there is usually a lot of clinking and banging going on. It’s not the kind of job where you stay clean. By noon, most of us have dust on our hands and grease on our shirts. We make various metal crafts, mostly stuff that people need for uniforms or specific decorations. The street outside is narrow, so when a delivery truck comes, everything kind of stops for a minute. We have been in this spot for a good while, and the neighbors are used to the noise by now. Inside, the benches are cluttered with tools—hammers, files, and soldering irons. We don't have a front desk or a receptionist. If you walk in, you’ll probably just see someone hunched over a piece of brass or iron. It’s a simple operation. We don’t spend money on fancy decorations for the shop because the work happens on the floor and the tables. Sometimes we stay late when a big batch of items needs to be finished. It is just basic labor and making things with our hands. We focus on the metal and the orders that come through the mail or over the phone. We just try to get the pieces right.
