Shemoy Ties Mfg. Co.

We’re over at J-5 in Kirti Nagar. Shemoy Ties Mfg. Co. is mainly a manufacturing spot, so it’s full of sewing machines and long cutting tables. It’s a bit of a maze with all the cardboard boxes stacked up. We’ve been making ties here for a long time. The machines have a specific rhythm that you get used to after a while. It’s a lot of repetitive work, cutting the silk and lining it up just right. We have a small crew of people who have been with us for years. We don’t really have a fancy showroom for customers. If someone wants to see our work, they just come into the main work area and look at the tables. It can be a bit dusty with all the lint flying around from the fabrics. We usually have the big doors open to let some air in. Kirti Nagar is a busy area, so there’s always trucks moving around outside our gate. We try to keep our head down and get the orders out on time. Sometimes we run out of a certain color and have to wait for the supplier, which is a bit of a pain. We just do our job and go home. It’s a straightforward business. We don't use any fancy talk about what we do. We just make ties and try to do it right for the people who buy them from us. There is always something to be done.
