Our office sits on the second floor of the Paryavaran Complex, right on Ignou Road in New Delhi. If you know this part of the city, you know it gets pretty busy. It is a bit of a walk up to the second floor, and the stairs are sometimes a bit dusty, but we don't mind. We spend most of our time here just sorting through the paperwork for the hotels. It is not a very big space, and we have files stacked up on almost every desk. We have a small kettle for making tea, and someone is always offering a cup to whoever walks in. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we have some old pictures of the properties to cover the marks. Ignou Road is always humming with buses and cars, so there is a constant noise that we have just gotten used to over the years. We aren't a corporate office with fancy glass doors and expensive carpets. It is more of a place where we sit and get the daily work done. Sometimes the printer acts up or the internet goes a bit slow, and we just have to wait it out. It is a regular job for us. We try to keep things in order, but when it is a busy week, things get a bit messy. That is just the way it goes. We like the local food stalls nearby for a quick lunch. It feels like a real neighborhood here.
