You can find us at J-17B, Chanakya Place, right across from C-1 in Janakpuri. This is where Jaypee Hotels Ltd. has its local office. It is not one of our actual hotels, so do not expect a lobby with a fountain or a buffet. It is a working office where we handle the day-to-day administration that keeps things running elsewhere. We spend a lot of time on the phone and dealing with vendors or staff issues. The office is pretty standard—lots of desks, some old filing cabinets, and a kitchen where the kettle is always on. Janakpuri is a lively area, and we like being situated here because it feels like a real part of New Delhi. We aren’t trying to impress anyone with a fancy address or expensive furniture. We just focus on getting our work done so the hotels can provide a good stay for their guests. Sometimes the air conditioner makes a weird noise and we have to fix it, or we run out of printer ink at the worst possible time. It is just the usual office life. We have a small group of people here who have been working together for years, so we know each other’s habits pretty well. We do not use much corporate talk because we do not see the point. We just want to do our jobs correctly and go home to our families at the end of the day. It is a straightforward way to run things, and it works for us.
