Hotel Vikram

Hotel Vikram is tucked away in Kotana Street, right in the heart of Sui Walan in Darya Ganj. It is one of those spots in Delhi where the lanes are always narrow and someone is always pushing a cart or riding a cycle past the front door. We have been here for a good while, watching the neighborhood change around us. Inside, it is just a regular place with some old furniture and a lot of stairs. The mornings usually start with the sound of the market waking up and the smell of tea from the corner stall. Most of us here have worked in this building for years, so we know every creak in the floorboards. It is not some fancy high-rise. It is just a building where we spend our days managing things. Sometimes the electricity acts up or the street gets so blocked that even a bicycle cannot pass through. We spend a lot of time just talking to the neighbors or sorting out the daily chores. The address is 1500/B-14 and it is a bit hard to find if you are not looking closely. Darya Ganj has a way of hiding places like ours behind all the shops and stalls. We do not have big signs or anything. It is mostly just the staff drinking chai and keeping the place running while the city moves outside. We just keep things moving as well as we can every day.
