Hotel The Oberoi, New Delhi

We’ve been here at A-1/ 122B in New Delhi for quite some time now. Hotel The Oberoi, New Delhi is just the name on the front of the building, but mostly it’s just us working inside day after day. It gets pretty busy around here, especially with the traffic outside, though once you step inside it feels a bit different. We spend most of our mornings checking the lobby and making sure everything is where it should be. Some of us have worked here for years and we know every corner of the place, from the back offices to the hallways. It’s a lot of work keeping up with a building this size in a city like New Delhi. There’s always a light that needs changing or someone asking for directions. We don’t really do fancy speeches about what we do. We just show up, handle the keys, talk to the people coming through the doors, and try to keep things running. The weather gets hot in the summer and the air conditioning is something we always have to watch. It’s just a regular job for us, really. We see a lot of faces, some stay for a night and others longer. It’s funny how you get used to the noise of the city after a while. We’re just here on the ground, doing what needs to get done every day without making a big fuss about it.
