Hotel Shangrila,New Delhi

Hotel Shangrila is located at 693/3, in Flat No. 7 over in Mehrauli. It’s an interesting part of New Delhi to be in, with all the old history around. We aren't one of those massive, impersonal hotel chains you see in the movies. We’re more of a local setup. Running a place like this in Mehrauli means we see all sorts of travelers, from people just passing through to those who want to stay a bit longer near the monuments. The building is older, and things sometimes need a bit of fixing, but we stay busy keeping things running. The staff here are mostly locals who know the streets around 110030 like the back of their hands. It gets quite noisy outside sometimes, but that’s just Delhi for you. We don’t have a massive marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us making sure the rooms are clean and the guests have what they need for the night. Sometimes we're running around looking for a plumber or making sure the laundry is done on time. It’s a very hands-on kind of life. We don’t promise anything grand, just a place to sleep and a bit of help if you’re lost in the city. It’s honest work and we’ve been at this address for a good while now. It feels more like a home than a big corporate office. We just take it one day at a time here.
