Hotel Intercontinental

Hotel Intercontinental is located at 1140 A/A in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. This part of the city is always moving, and being near the main roads means there’s never a quiet moment. The building itself has been here for a good while. Inside, we spend our time managing the rooms and making sure the guests have what they need. It’s not just about the rooms though; there’s a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff like laundry, kitchen prep, and keeping the lobby clean. We don’t use any of those big corporate scripts when people walk in. We just talk to them like normal people. Vasant Kunj is a busy place with lots of malls and traffic nearby, so people often arrive looking a bit tired from the Delhi roads. We try to get them checked in without making them wait too long. The staff here knows the local area well, so if someone asks for a good place to eat nearby, we usually have a few suggestions. Working in a hotel means our shifts are all over the place. Some of us are here late at night while the city sleeps, and others start very early. It’s a constant cycle of people arriving and leaving. We keep the registers updated and make sure the phones are answered. It is a practical operation where we just focus on the daily tasks at hand in 1140 A/A.
