Hotel Gautam & Pind Balluchi

If you find yourself near Gol Dakkhana in New Delhi, we are right there at 70 Block 10C on Kali Bari Margh. It’s a busy intersection and there is always something going on outside. Hotel Gautam is where the rooms are, and Pind Balluchi is the restaurant part where people come to eat. It gets pretty crowded during lunch and dinner times, especially with people working in the nearby offices. The building has been here for a while, and it’s got that older Delhi feel to it. We don’t really go for that super polished five-star look; it’s more about being a place where you can actually sit down and have a heavy meal. The kitchen stays pretty loud with all the cooking and the staff shouting orders. Sometimes the lobby gets a bit packed when guests are checking in and out at the same time. We try to keep the rooms tidy and the food hot. That’s pretty much the whole goal. Kali Bari Margh is a well-known spot, so we get a mix of travelers and locals. It’s not a quiet place by any means, but it’s real. We’ve got the usual stuff you’d expect, nothing over the top. It’s just us running the hotel and the kitchen every day, making sure things don't fall apart and everyone gets fed and has a place to sleep.
