Hotel Delta Sheraton

Started working here at Hotel Delta Sheraton a while back. We are tucked into the Ganesh Nagar Pandav Nagar Complex. It’s a busy part of Laxshminagar. Sandeep Singh is usually around the office or checking things in the back. The D-357-B building isn't fancy, but it gets the job done for folks staying over in New Delhi. Most days start with the sound of traffic from the main road. The lobby has some chairs that have seen better days. We spend a lot of time answering the phone and writing down bookings in the ledger. It gets quite dusty around here because of all the construction nearby, so we are always wiping down the counters. People come in from all over. Some are just here for a night before catching a train. We don't have a huge staff, just a few of us making sure the rooms are tidy and the water is running. Sometimes the electricity acts up, but that’s just how things go in this part of the city. We keep a stash of candles and a backup generator just in case. It’s not a quiet place, but it’s ours. We know the neighbors and the guy who sells tea at the corner. It feels like a small community inside this big complex. We just keep things moving, one day after another, making sure the guests have a place to sleep.
