Hotel Ashok

Hotel Ashok is over at V 164 Sector D, Bhagwati Vihar. Being in the Uttam Nager area of New Delhi 110059 means it is always noisy and busy outside. We have a few floors here and our main job is keeping the rooms clean and making sure people have a place to sleep. It is a basic hotel, nothing too fancy, but we try to keep things tidy. My cousin and I run the front desk and we have a couple of guys who help with the cleaning and heavy lifting. The lobby has some old chairs that have been here since we opened. We often have the television on in the background so it doesn't feel too quiet when there are no guests checking in. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we have to go down and check the generator. We get a lot of travelers who are just staying for a night before catching a train or a bus. There is a small kitchen where we boil water for tea and coffee. The street outside is quite narrow, so if you are driving, it can be a bit tricky to find a spot. We do not have a big team of managers, just us doing the work every day. It is a bit of a challenge sometimes, but we like meeting new people. It is just a normal local business.
