Our office for the Hotel & Restaurant Assn. Of Norther India is in a DDA Janta Flat. It’s number 48 in Badarpur. It’s a quiet enough spot compared to the main roads of New Delhi. We handle things for hotels and restaurants across the northern part of the country. It’s mostly administrative stuff, keeping track of memberships and helping out with industry issues. Being in a Janta flat means we aren't in some high-rise glass building. It's a more down-to-earth setting. We have a lot of files and papers everywhere because that’s just how it is in this business. People from different hotels stop by or call us to talk about rules or events. We’ve been part of the local scene for a long time. The office has a bit of a lived-in feel to it. We drink a lot of tea while we work. Badarpur is right on the edge of the city, so it’s easy for people coming from other states to find us. We don't have a big fancy lobby. You just come in, say hello, and we see how we can help. It's about keeping the hospitality community connected. We aren't trying to sell anything, we just keep the association running smoothly day by day. It's honest work and we like being part of the trade. We have been in Badarpur for a long time now and the DDA Janta flats are a familiar place for us. Even though the rooms are small, we manage to fit all our records and computers. There is always someone here during office hours to answer the phone. We just take things one day at a time and try to be useful.
