Living and working here in Kangra is quite different from the big cities. Our Hcl Infosystems Ltd setup is right in the V.P.O. Chamukha area. It is a quiet spot, mostly surrounded by local houses and the greenery you expect in Himachal Pradesh. We do not have a giant glass building or anything like that. Instead, it is just a simple space where we handle the technical side of things for the people around here. Sometimes the internet acts up when the weather gets rough, but that is just part of life in the hills. We spend our mornings checking logs and making sure the systems are doing what they are supposed to do. If someone from the village stops by, we have a chat and see what they need. It is not a high-pressure environment, though we do stay busy enough. The air is fresh, which is a nice change from the dusty roads down in the plains. We keep things simple. There is a desk, some chairs, and a lot of cables tucked away behind the counters. We are not trying to impress anyone with a polished look. We just want to make sure the work gets finished by the end of the day so we can head home. It feels good to provide these services in a place like Chamukha where everything is a bit more personal and less corporate.
