Glossy Buttons Pvt. Ltd. is located in the basement of 976-b/9 in Govind Puri. Being in a basement means we don’t get any natural light, so we have to keep the overhead lights on all day long. Govind Puri is a very crowded area, and the streets are always full of people, rickshaws, and delivery bikes. You can hear the sounds of the street from down here, which is actually kind of nice because it keeps us connected to what’s happening outside. The space is a bit tight, so we have to be very careful about how we stack things. We have rows of shelves filled with different types of buttons and fasteners. It’s a lot of inventory to keep track of, but we have a system that works for us, even if it looks a bit chaotic to someone else. We spend a lot of time counting out small items and bagging them up. It’s tedious work, but we talk while we do it to pass the time. We have a small desk near the entrance where we keep the ledger and the phone. Every once in a while, we have to deal with a bit of dampness when it rains heavily, but we’ve got some pallets to keep the stock off the floor. It’s not the most glamorous location, but it’s where we started and it suits our needs just fine. We just focus on getting the daily orders sorted and sent out.
