We are located at number one Mahila Colony in Geeta Colony. Gandhi Nagar is a place that never really stops moving. It’s all about the clothes here. Our building is usually full of big plastic bags stuffed with garments ready to go out. The hallways are narrow and you’re always dodging someone carrying a heavy load on their shoulder. I spend most of my day on the phone or checking the lists of what’s coming in and what’s going out. It’s noisy because of the traffic outside and the people shouting in the lanes. My desk is tucked into a corner under a light that hums a little bit. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls, just some calendars and maybe a few notes taped up. The tea man comes by three times a day and that’s usually the highlight of the afternoon. We have to be careful with the piles of stock so nothing falls over. It’s a lot of paperwork too, which I don't much care for but it has to be done. Sometimes we stay late when a big shipment arrives and we have to sort it all out by hand. The air is always a bit thick with the smell of new fabric and cardboard boxes. It’s just a busy wholesale spot. We aren't trying to be anything other than what we are, just a working office in the middle of a crowded market.
