GCIL Enterprises works out of a basement unit at F-12/12 in Malviya Nagar. It is pretty easy to find if you look for Ajeet Restaurant, as we are right near there. Working in a basement means we don’t get a lot of natural light, but it keeps the place a bit cooler during the harsh Delhi summers. We do a bit of everything here, as the "enterprises" name suggests. Our days are filled with various tasks, from managing trade details to sorting out logistics for the different things we handle. The smell of food from the restaurant nearby often drifts in, which is both a blessing and a distraction around lunchtime. The space is a bit industrial, with heavy shelves and a lot of files stacked up in the corners. We don't bother with fancy decor because that is not what our work is about. It is about moving things from point A to point B and making sure the numbers add up at the end of the month. Sometimes the basement gets a bit damp when it rains heavily, so we are always moving things off the floor just in case. It is a very grounded way of working, literally. We just come in, do what needs to be done, and head home. There are no corporate retreats or big speeches here, just the sound of a few computers and the occasional delivery truck pulling up outside the basement stairs.
