Our office is right in the middle of Shahpur Jat at House No.107. If you know New Delhi, you know this area is a maze of narrow lanes and old buildings near the Asiad Village. It is a very interesting place to work because you have high-end fashion boutiques on one side and old-school village houses on the other. We are the corporate side of the hotel business, so we spend a lot of time on the phone or sending emails to different properties. It gets pretty cramped in our office sometimes with all the paperwork and people moving around. We don't have the luxury of the big hotels we manage; it’s just a practical space where we coordinate things. The walk from where you park the car to the front door can be a bit of a trek, especially if it’s raining. We have a small kitchen area where we make tea, and that is usually where the best gossip about the hotel industry happens. It’s a lot of coordination and making sure everyone else has what they need to run their buildings. We have been in this spot for a while now, and we’ve grown used to the tight corners and the busy energy of the neighborhood. It’s just how we get things done during the week without too much fuss.
