Duke Hotel & Restaurant

Duke Hotel & Restaurant is right on Netaji Subhash Marg in Darya Ganj, number 8. It’s an old building in a very busy part of the city. The street outside is always full of people, rickshaws, and cars honking. We have been running this place for a long time. The hotel part is upstairs and the restaurant is on the ground floor. It’s a bit worn out in places, like the carpet on the stairs and some of the wooden tables, but it functions well enough. We get travelers who are looking for a cheap place to stay near the main markets. The restaurant serves standard food like rice, vegetables, and meat dishes. I spend a lot of my time at the front desk or checking on the kitchen. It’s a loud environment because of the fans and the noise from the road. The rooms are basic, just a bed and a fan, and maybe a small television if it’s working that day. We don't have any of those modern fancy systems. People come here because it’s convenient and they know what to expect. The kitchen staff is usually busy from morning until late at night. Sometimes the plumbing gives us trouble, so we have to call the repairman, but we manage. It’s a practical business for a place like Darya Ganj. We just try to keep the sheets clean and the food hot for whoever walks through the door.
