Out here in Nangloi, at Indra Enclave, things are always moving. We are in Gali No. 8, right near the Durga Mandir. You can hear the bells from the temple sometimes when it’s quiet, but it’s rarely quiet. Phase-2 is a busy spot. We have rolls of plastic and cardboard stacked up everywhere. It smells like glue and paper. My family and a couple of guys from the neighborhood run the machines. We get orders for boxes mostly. It’s a small space, so we have to be organized or we can't move. The floor is concrete and stays cool even when it’s hot outside. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit and wait. We don’t have a big office, just a corner with a table and two chairs. If someone wants packaging, they usually just walk in from the street. We don’t use any fancy software for the accounts. Just a diary and a calculator. It’s dusty work but someone has to do it. The street is narrow so the trucks have a hard time backing in. We spend a lot of time shouting directions to the drivers. It’s a bit of a mess but we get the boxes out on time. We’ve been at A-273/5 for a while now and everyone knows where we are.
