You can find us right in the middle of the chaos at 312 Azad Market. If you’ve ever been to Azad Market, you know it’s a whirlwind of people, carts, and goods being moved around from dawn until dusk. Our shop isn't anything fancy to look at, just a sturdy space filled with whatever we are trading that week. It’s a partnership between the two of us, Bhag Singh and Gurvinder Singh, and we’ve been working side by side for a long time now. We don't spend money on advertising or shiny brochures because our customers know exactly where to find us when they need to restock. Most of our day is spent negotiating prices, checking the quality of the items coming in, and making sure the crates are stacked safely so they don't fall over. It’s a loud place to work with everyone shouting to be heard over the noise of the traffic and the other traders. We usually have a glass of tea on the counter that’s gone cold because we got too busy to drink it. We don't have any grand philosophy about business. We just show up here every day, opening the shutters on time, and dealing with our suppliers and buyers in a straightforward way. It’s a tough environment but it’s what we know. The market is our life and we wouldn't really know what to do anywhere else.
