You can find us at Jugal Lal Market on Bhartal Road in Bijwasan. The market is always moving, especially with people coming in from the nearby villages. Our shop is full of all kinds of bags, from the small ones for school kids to those big heavy ones people use for traveling. There is always a bit of thread on the floor and the sound of sewing machines humming in the back. It’s not a quiet place. We have rolls of fabric leaning against the walls and zippers in every color you can think of. Sometimes it’s hard to move around because there is so much stuff everywhere. The lights are a bit dim in the corners, but we know where everything is. People come in to get their straps fixed or to buy something new for a trip. We don’t have a website or anything like that, just the shop here on the road. The dust from Bhartal Road usually blows in when the door is open, so we have to wipe down the counters a few times a day. It’s a family-run kind of thing, and we take our time with the work. We’ve been in this market for a while now, and we know most of the other shopkeepers around us. It’s just a normal day of measuring, cutting, and stitching. Our stools are old and we have a small radio that plays music sometimes. It keeps the atmosphere light while we work on the heavy canvas.
