Avalon Hotel

Our place is House A/203 in Motibagh. It’s not one of those massive hotels with hundreds of rooms and a lobby that goes on forever. It’s just a house that we’ve set up to take in guests. We’ve got a few rooms and we try to keep things clean and tidy for whoever stays. It’s mostly people visiting Delhi for work or just passing through. My family helps run the place, so you’ll see us around doing the laundry or fixing something in the kitchen. We don't have a big restaurant, but we can usually fix a simple breakfast or some tea if someone asks. The neighborhood is fairly quiet, which is nice because Delhi can get really loud. We have a small gate and a bit of a garden out front that I try to keep green. It’s a lot of work maintaining an old house like this. Something is always needing a bit of paint or a leaky tap needs fixing. We’ve been here for a while and we know the local shops where we get our supplies. Guests usually like that it feels more like staying at a friend’s house than a cold hotel room. We don't have a fancy reception desk, just a table where we keep the guest book and some keys. It’s a simple living for us, and we enjoy meeting different people from all over. We just keep things running as best as we can.
