About A Granite Today – Building & Construction Material in New Delhi
A Granite Today is located out at Khasra No. 31-32 in Chandan Hulla. It’s a bit of a trek for some, but it’s where we have enough space to actually keep the granite we get in. My uncle started this place, and I’ve been helping out for about ten years now. Most days it’s just us and a couple of guys working the cranes. Dealing with stone isn't exactly easy on the back, but you get used to the weight after a while. We don't have a big showroom with air conditioning or anything like that. It’s mostly just the open yard and the sheds where the slabs are lined up. Sometimes the rain makes the ground a bit muddy, but that’s just part of the job. People usually find us by asking around Chandan Hulla or just spotting the big piles of stone from the road. We get all sorts of granite coming in, different colors and patterns depending on where it’s from. I spend a lot of my time just checking the edges for cracks because nobody wants a slab that’s going to split. It’s simple work, really. We wake up, open the gates, and see who needs help finding a piece of stone for their kitchen or floors. It’s quiet out here until the cutting starts, and then it’s pretty loud until we close up for the evening. We keep things honest and plain.
