Kothari Heavy Lifters

Working out of Airoli, specifically here at Indrayani Chs, isn’t always quiet. Kothari Heavy Lifters deals with a lot of big machinery and moving parts. Our room in building number 28 is where the planning happens, though most of the real work is out on the sites. It’s dusty and loud work most of the time. We have been in Navi Mumbai for years and seen Sector 19 grow quite a bit. The team here is small but we know how the equipment behaves. Sometimes the cranes need maintenance right when a big job comes in, which is always a headache. We spend a lot of time on the phone coordinating drivers and checking schedules. It’s a lot of logistics. People think moving heavy stuff is just about power, but there is a lot of waiting and measuring involved. We drink a lot of chai while waiting for permits or for a truck to arrive. Our office isn't much to look at, just some files and a few chairs for when the guys come back from a shift. We don't do much advertising because people in the trade usually know where to find us. We just keep our heads down and handle the lifting. It’s hard work, especially in the rain, but it keeps us busy. We take it one day at a time here in Airoli and hope the machines keep running smooth.
