We set up shop in the NRI Complex at Seawoods Estates in Nerul. Our specific spot is 10 201, which is part of this big residential and commercial sprawl in Navi Mumbai. It’s actually a pretty nice area with a bit more breathing room than the main city. You get a decent breeze coming off the water sometimes. The office itself is pretty basic. We have some computers, a printer that jams every other day, and some old metal filing cabinets. It’s where we handle the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd business for this side of the woods. Most of us live nearby, so the commute isn’t the soul-crushing experience you get elsewhere. The complex is quite large, so visitors sometimes get lost looking for our specific block. We’ve tried to put up a small sign but it doesn't always help. There’s a lot of security at the gates, which is good I guess, but it can be a hassle for deliveries. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a fancy boardroom. It’s just a place where we sit down and get through the paperwork. Sometimes we talk about the cricket scores while we work. It’s a relaxed atmosphere but we still make sure things get finished. Being out here in Nerul is definitely better than being stuck in the middle of Dadar or something like that for our daily shifts.
