Sangita Cement Products

Down here in the Ambad MIDC area, things are always moving. We’re located at D-14 and Sangita Cement Products is where we make all our concrete items. It’s a lot of grey stuff everywhere you look. We have these big molds that we fill up with cement every day. You have to get the mix just right or things won’t set the way they’re supposed to. My boots are always covered in dried concrete and it’s a bit of a struggle to keep the place tidy. We make pipes, blocks, and other things people need for building. Nashik can get pretty hot, and working around all that drying cement makes it feel even warmer. We start early, usually before the sun is fully up, to get a head start on the day’s pouring. The machines make a lot of noise, so we have to shout sometimes to hear each other over the engines. We’ve been in this spot for years and the neighbors in the industrial estate are all doing similar heavy work. It’s not a quiet life, but it’s steady. Sometimes a batch doesn't turn out right and we have to break it down and start over. That’s just part of the job. We don’t bother with fancy goals or big speeches. We just make the products and wait for the trucks to come and pick them up. It is just a practical way to earn a living for all of us here.
