Chhaya Traders

We are based in the Sicof Midc area on Mahindra Road. Our address is Shop No. 222-B, Plot No. 69. Being in an industrial zone like Satpur means there is always a lot of activity around us. Large trucks are constantly moving up and down the road, kicking up a lot of dirt. We deal in various goods as traders and our warehouse space is usually packed to the ceiling. It is not the most glamorous place to work but it is where we spend our lives. The air smells like diesel and metal most of the time. We have a small desk near the front where we handle the paperwork and talk to suppliers. It gets quite loud during the day with all the nearby factories running. We’ve learned to talk over the noise. Our hours are long because the trade business doesn't really stop. Sometimes we are here late into the night loading or unloading stuff. We don't have a fancy website or anything like that. People just call us or show up when they need something. It’s a very hands-on job and we are constantly on our feet. The floors are concrete and hard on the knees but you get used to it. We just try to keep things moving so the supply chain doesn't get stuck. Being in the Sicof MIDC area means we are part of a massive network of businesses. Every morning when I arrive at Plot No. 69, I see the same faces at the tea stall nearby. We trade in items that most people wouldn't think twice about, but they are essential for the factories around here.
