Kalankar Building Material

Our yard is over in Murlidhar Nagar, right near the Sai Baba Mandir. If you have ever been around Chandrabhaga Society at Pathardi Phata, you have probably driven past us before. We keep a lot of materials on hand like sand, grit, and other things people need when they are building houses. Kalankar Building Material isn't some huge operation with a bunch of managers, it’s just a place where trucks come and go all day long. It gets pretty dusty, especially when the wind picks up near the temple. We spend a lot of time measuring out loads and talking to contractors who are always in a big hurry. Sometimes the neighbors complain about the noise of the trucks unloading, but that is just part of the business. We try to keep things moving as fast as we can. I usually have a small notebook in my pocket to keep track of who ordered what and where it needs to go. It is simple, hard work. We don't have a fancy showroom with lights. Most of our stuff is just sitting out in the open air. You can see the temple from where we stand, which is nice in the quiet mornings. People stop by on their way home to ask about current prices. We tell them what we have available and when we can get it delivered. It is just us and the materials.
