Subbarayan Poultry

We are located out in Madakasampatti, a quiet spot in the K.Pudpalayam area. Subbarayan Poultry was started a while ago by P. Subbarayam, and now his son, S. Arulmani, runs the daily operations here. It’s a typical farm life where our mornings start well before the sun comes up. You get used to the sound of the birds and the smell of the feed after a while. We aren't a big corporate entity with shiny offices. Most of our day is spent outside in the sheds or checking on the supplies in P.Velur. It’s dusty, physical work, but it’s what we’ve always done. We have a small team of local workers who help us keep everything moving. Sometimes the weather gets really hot and we have to work extra hard to keep the birds comfortable. It's not a fancy business by any means. We just focus on the basics of poultry farming and making sure the birds are fed and healthy. If you come by this part of the district, you’ll see our sheds standing out in the fields. We don't spend much time on the computer or doing fancy paperwork. Most of our records are kept in simple ledgers. It’s an honest way to make a living and we take pride in the fact that we’ve kept it going for this long. We just take things one day at a time here on the farm. It keeps us busy and we don't have many reasons to complain about it.
