Sivakami Tex

Sivakami Tex is located at 10/38 on Mettu Street in Rasipuram. Being in R. Komarapalayam means we are right in the thick of things. This area is known for its cloth and we are just one part of that whole scene. Our place is simple. We have the looms or the stock taking up most of the floor space. It’s dusty work and can get quite loud depending on what is running that day. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything like that to show off. Most people who come by are just here to pick up orders or drop off materials. We’ve been doing this for years, following the same patterns every day. The morning starts early here because the heat gets bad by noon. We usually have some music playing in the background to keep everyone moving and in a good mood. Mettu Street is always a bit busy with people and carts moving back and forth. We know most of the neighbors and we all kind of look out for each other. It’s not a complicated life. We deal with the threads and the fabrics and make sure the counts are right. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit outside in the shade until it comes back on. It is just a normal way of living and working in this part of the country. We don't worry about being the biggest, just about doing the work we have in front of us.
