Sri Boobalan Fabric

Our workshop, Sri Boobalan Fabric, is located over at 67-1D on R.S. Road in Amman Nagar. Pallipalayam is a busy place, and we are right in the middle of it. We spend our days surrounded by rolls of cloth and the sound of machines. It’s a bit noisy, but you get used to it after the first week. We aren't some big corporation with polished floors; our floors are usually covered in loose threads and scraps. That is just the reality of working with fabrics every day. We focus on getting the weaving and the cutting right. If a machine breaks down, we fix it ourselves and keep going. There is no point in making a big fuss about things. We just want to do the job and get the fabric sent out to the people who need it. The R.S. Road area is always humming with traffic, which makes the mornings quite lively when everyone is arriving for work. We have a small crew, and everyone knows what they are supposed to be doing without being told twice. Sometimes we have a tea break together outside when the weather is nice, then it’s back to the looms. It is steady work, and it keeps us out of trouble. We’ve been at this for a while, and we plan to stay here for a lot longer. It is just honest labor that happens one yard of fabric at a time.
