Maruthi Fly Ash Bricks

Out here at 56-A Veerapalayam Road, we spend most of our time making these bricks. It's dusty work, but Keerambur is a good place for it. Maruthi Fly Ash Bricks is what we call the yard. We have been making these for a while now. The sun gets pretty hot out here in the open, but the work has to get done. We use fly ash because it's what works for these specific blocks. We aren't a giant factory or anything like that, just a local spot where you can get what you need for a wall or a house. My hands are usually covered in grit by the end of the shift. The trucks come and go all day, taking loads out to different sites nearby. It is a lot of heavy lifting and making sure the mix is just right. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to fix them on the fly. That is just part of the job. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning. Most of the time I'm just out there in the yard. If you're coming down Veerapalayam Road, you'll see the stacks. We try to keep a decent stock so people don't have to wait too long. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from morning till late. The yard gets messy when it rains, but we just clean it up and keep going tomorrow.
