Jothi Vidhyalaya Matric Higher Secondary School is right in Pallokollai Village. If you are traveling through Jagirammapalayam, you will probably see our sign. It is a higher secondary school, which means we have the older teenagers along with the smaller kids. The building we have is quite simple. We do not spend much of our time on decorations or fancy things. It is mostly about keeping the classrooms clean and the ceiling fans working when the heat gets bad in the afternoons. Village life is usually quiet, but this school is definitely the loudest part of the neighborhood. We follow the matriculation path for all our classes. Most of the teachers live nearby. They usually walk or take a small scooter to get to work every day. We have a set routine that we follow. Assembly starts early, then we have classes, and then a break for lunch. The kids bring their own tiffins and sit under the trees if the weather is not too hot. We have enough benches for everyone most of the time. Some of the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but the roof is solid and the desks are sturdy enough for the students. We deal with the usual problems like power cuts or rainy days that turn the ground outside into a bit of a muddy mess. But we keep the doors open every day for the local families.
