Evergreen School

Evergreen School is situated on Kattupalayam Road in Namakkal. It’s a place that’s been here for quite some time now. People in this part of Namakkal know where we are. The building is a simple structure. We have different classrooms for the grades. The desks are a bit worn from years of use. We have a small office near the entrance where we keep the registers and the attendance books. Outside, the road can get a little busy during the morning hours when parents are dropping off their children. Some kids come by walk because they live nearby. We have a bell that we ring for every period. Teachers carry their bags and books to the classes. It’s a regular routine. During the break, you can hear the noise of kids playing in the small yard we have. It’s not a huge campus with tracks or fields, just a basic open space. We have a couple of trees that give some shade. The walls are painted a plain color. We have to fix the roof sometimes after the monsoon rains. It’s just a local school where we do our work. Nothing very fancy. We have the usual blackboards and some charts made by the students on the walls. Most of the kids come from families living around Kattupalayam Road. We just keep the school going day by day until the final bell rings at four.
