Agn Matriculation Higher Secondary School

Down in Apputhottam, you will find Agn Matriculation Higher Secondary School. Konganapuram is a quiet enough place, but the school brings its own kind of energy every morning. It is right there in Salem, so we deal with the usual dust and the bright sun. The building stands there among the trees, and we have a big space out front where the kids gather. It is not a very complicated setup. We have the classrooms, the office where the paperwork piles up, and the stairs that everyone seems to run down way too fast. Sometimes the paint peels a bit near the bottom of the walls where the kids kick their shoes, but that is just how it is. We spend our days making sure the chalk is stocked and the water tanks are full. Salem life moves at its own pace, and we just follow along with the school year. The morning assembly is always a bit loud, with everyone trying to stand in straight lines while looking at the sky. We have a lot of benches that have names scratched into them from years ago. It feels like a lived-in place. The staff room is always full of tea cups and half-corrected notebooks. We don't have any big fancy signs or anything, just the name on the front and the sound of lessons going on throughout the day. It is just our local school here in the neighborhood.
