Sobhraj Industries

We set up Sobhraj Industries over at Plot No. 72 in Mahatma Gandhi Nagar. It’s right off Hudkeshwar Road, which is a pretty busy stretch of road these days. Our workshop is usually buzzing with the sound of machines because there is always something that needs to be fabricated or fixed. We aren't a giant corporation with fancy suits. We’re mostly just guys in overalls who know how to work with metal and machinery. The floor is usually covered in some shavings and oil, but that’s just a sign that we’re actually getting work done. We’ve been in this spot for a good while now and have seen the neighborhood grow up around us. It used to be a bit quieter, but now there’s a lot more traffic on Hudkeshwar Road. We don't spend much money on marketing or anything like that. Most of our work comes from people who know what we do and just stop by to ask if we can handle a specific job. We try to be straight with people about how long things will take and what it’s going to cost. It’s just a practical way to run a business. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to spend the whole day fixing our own gear, but that’s just part of the life. We like being part of the local industrial scene here in Nagpur. It’s noisy and dirty, but it feels right. We are here every morning.
