Deokar & Sons

We have got our workshop at Plot No. 5 on Hingna Road, over in the MIDC area of Gajanan Nagar. We are pretty easy to spot if you are coming from the Electronic Zone Chowk. Deokar & Sons has been a family name around here for a couple of generations. My father started it in a much smaller shed, and we moved to this plot about ten years ago when we needed more room for the machinery. It is loud in here during the day with all the metalwork going on, but we like the noise because it means we have work to do. There is always grease on someone’s hands and the floor is never really clean, no matter how much we sweep it. We have a small corner with a couple of chairs where we sit to have our lunch and talk about the day. It is not a fancy corporate environment. We wear work clothes and do not worry too much about looking polished. The main thing is getting the orders out on time. Sometimes we stay late on Saturdays if a customer is in a hurry. We do not have a big team, just a few local guys who have been with us for years and know exactly how everything works. It is a hard life sometimes, but it is what we know and we are proud to keep the family name going on the sign outside.
