Site Engineer

You can find me over at 212, Gandhinagar in Nagpur, right by the Shivaji Skating Ground. I’m a Site Engineer, and my office is C/O Rajesh Ughade. It’s a nice spot because you can hear the kids skating and playing outside while I’m working on my plans. Nagpur gets incredibly hot, so my office is where I retreat to when the sun is at its peak. I’ve got all my gear there—auto-levels, tapes, and my site diary. My day is usually split between looking at those plans and actually being on the ground at a construction site. I don’t believe in being a 'boss' who just sits in a chair. I like to get my hands dirty and show the guys how a certain joint should be done. The Gandhinagar area is fairly central, so it’s easy for me to get around. My office is a bit cluttered with soil samples and different grades of aggregate, but I know where everything is. I’ve been a Site Engineer for a good while now, and I’ve seen Nagpur change a lot. I don't have a big marketing budget or a shiny website. People just come to 212 Gandhinagar when they need someone to look over their building work. It’s a straightforward life. I do my calculations, check the site, and go home. That’s about all there is to it. I'm just a local guy doing technical work.
