Service Engineer

Shri Mahankal started this service engineer workshop at Plot Number 42 in Bharat Mata Nagar quite a few years back. Nagpur is known for being hot, and our shop definitely feels it in the afternoons. We don't have any of those polished floors or bright lights you see in the big city shops. It’s just a practical space where we can get our hands dirty. We deal with a lot of mechanical stuff and some electrical work too. Most days, the floor is covered in scraps of metal or old wires that we haven't had time to sweep up yet. We aren't trying to impress anyone who walks through the door. We just want to get the job done so we can move on to the next one. Sometimes a repair is easy, and other times we’re staring at a machine for hours trying to find the fault. We don't have a receptionist, so if the phone rings, one of us just wipes our hands and picks it up. It’s a small operation and that’s how we like it. We know most of the people around here and they know us. We aren't looking to get rich, just to make a decent living doing something we actually understand. The neighborhood is quiet for the most part, which helps when you’re trying to concentrate on a tricky fix. It’s just a regular day-to-day grind for us here in Nagpur.
