At Vinod Engineering, we work out of Samir Refrigeration No. 5 at Bhande Plot. We are located right opposite Changi Hospital, which is the easiest way to tell people where to go. It’s a working engineering shop, so it’s not exactly a clean or quiet environment. We have machines running and tools scattered around the benches most of the time. The floor is concrete and often has a few oil spots here and there. We don't have a big front office or anyone sitting at a desk just to answer phones. Most of us are busy with the actual engineering work, whether it’s fixing something or fabricating a part. It can get pretty warm in the shop, especially during the summer months, but we just keep the doors open to get a bit of a breeze. The hospital across the road is always busy, so there’s a lot of life around Bhande Plot. We take our lunch breaks when we can find a spare minute. It’s a very hands-on kind of place where the work speaks for itself. We’ve stayed in this location because it’s where we started and it suits our needs. There’s no need for anything fancy when you’re just trying to do a solid job with your hands. We just focus on the machines and getting the orders out on time. It’s a simple, everyday operation with no hidden extras.
