M.K.S.Engineering Co.Pvt.Ltd. is based at No- 1, Namak Kothi, on High Court Road in the North Civil Line area. It is an old part of town with a lot of history in the buildings. Our office has been here for a long time. It is not a modern glass office like the ones you see in the newer districts; it is more of a solid, older structure with thick walls. We have a lot of stuff lying around, mostly old files and some pieces of equipment that we use. We don't really have a showroom or anything for people to look at when they come in. It is just a practical place where we get the engineering work done. There are a few of us who have been here since the beginning, so we know how everything works. We don't use fancy titles much around here. Everyone just pitches in where they are needed at the moment. The High Court is quite nearby, so the road outside gets very busy with lawyers and people heading to court. We just stay inside and focus on the projects we have on our desks. It is a lot of looking at drawings and checking the numbers over and over. We don't talk like we are in a commercial. We just use plain English and try to be sensible about things. Some days are very long, but we finish them.
