Lokmat Samachar

Lokmat Samachar works out of Type 1 Building No 4, Quarter No 49 in Ravi Nagar, Nagpur 400 001. This is a residential area with lots of government quarters, so it is usually quite peaceful with plenty of trees around. Our office is basically a small living space that we have converted into a workplace. It is not what you would expect from a news organization, but it works for us. We have desks squeezed into the rooms and papers piled up everywhere you look. Nagpur gets incredibly hot during the summer, so we spend a lot of time sitting under the fans and drinking cold water while we work. We don't have a big budget for fancy renovations or a shiny reception area. We are just a group of people who focus on the news and making sure the information is correct. It is a lot of hard work and the hours can be very strange, especially when there is a big story breaking. We are part of the Ravi Nagar community, and our neighbors are used to seeing us coming and going at all hours. We don't use corporate language or try to sound more important than we are. We just put out the news from our little corner of Nagpur. It is a humble way to run things, but it feels right for the kind of work we do. We just keep writing.
