Kaliabor Green Valley Producer Company Limited

Kaliabor Green Valley Producer Company Limited is based in Simona Basti. You can find us through the post office at Salona, and we are under the Samaguri police station area. It’s a very green part of the country, which is probably why we chose the name. We are a group of farmers who live and work in this valley. We grow a lot of tea, but also some vegetables and other local produce. Most of us have small patches of land that we’ve worked for years. We decided to form this company so we could help each other get our goods to the bigger markets. Before, we were all just selling to whoever came by the village, and the prices weren't great. Now we try to be a bit more organized. Our office is just a simple building. There are often sacks of produce stacked up against the walls waiting for a truck. It’s not a very quiet place. There is always someone coming in to complain about a broken tool or to ask when the next payment is coming. We don't have any fancy mission statements. We just want to make sure the farmers in Simona Basti can keep their farms going. It’s hard work and the days are long, but we’ve got good people here. We just take it one season at a time and deal with whatever problems come up.
