Brahmaputra Anchalik Farmers Agro Producer Company Limited is based in the village of Lahkar, near Dhing. Our address is 11/24. We are a collective of farmers from the Brahmaputra region. Most of us have been farming along the river for our whole lives. We started this company because we wanted to have more control over how our crops are sold. It’s a lot of work to manage the company on top of the actual farming. We spend most of our time out in the fields, and then we come to the office to deal with the sales and the records. It’s a small operation, really. We don’t have any fancy equipment or a big warehouse. We just use what we have and try to make the most of it. The weather is always our biggest challenge, especially being so close to the river. Sometimes the floods come and change all our plans overnight. We just have to deal with it and start over if we have to. We don't have any big marketing slogans. We are just local people growing food. Most of the people who work here are also members of the company. It’s a group of neighbors trying to make things a little better for everyone. We talk about seeds, fertilizers, and the market prices every day. It’s just a normal part of life for us here in Lahkar. The 11/24 address is where you can usually find one of us if we aren't out by the river. We don't have a lot of formal meetings. We just chat while we work and make decisions based on what’s actually happening in the fields that day.
