Stay Simple Greenline Resort

Our place, Stay Simple Greenline Resort, is on the Katekeri Village Road, just off the main Madikeri-Mangalore Highway. The highway is always busy with buses and trucks, but once you turn onto the village road, things slow down quite a bit. I spend a lot of my time in the mornings walking through the garden area and checking on the plants. The greenery around here is thick because of all the rain we get, so there is always pruning to be done. The resort itself is not a high-rise or anything; it is more spread out and low to the ground. We have a lot of rooms to look after, and the cleaning takes up most of the afternoon for the staff. The kitchen is usually busy from early on, and the smell of breakfast drifts across the property. Sometimes the monkeys from the nearby trees come onto the roof and make a lot of noise, which is just part of living out here. We don't have fancy decorations, just simple furniture and clean spaces. It is a lot of work to keep the dampness out during the monsoon, so we are always painting or scrubbing something. By the time evening arrives, the air cools down and the sound of the highway feels like it is miles away, even though it is just down the road.
