Rathnadanadu Poultry Womens Farmer Producer Company Limited is based in Hundimala Village, which is over in Hunsur. We are located at number 157. This company is a bit different because it is run by the women here in the village. We mostly deal with poultry, so there is always the sound of chickens in the background when we are working. It started because a group of us wanted to have something of our own to manage. We handle the feeding, the eggs, and everything else that goes into keeping the birds healthy. It is hard work and your hands get dirty, but it is better than sitting around. Hunsur is a quiet place for the most part, and Hundimala is even quieter. We all know each other's families, so the office feels more like a house where friends meet. We don't have fancy titles or big offices. We just sit together and figure out how to sell the birds or buy the feed for the next month. Sometimes we have disagreements about how to do things, but we always work it out over a cup of tea. It feels good to see the progress we have made since we first started. We are just regular village women trying to make a living for our families. It keeps us busy and gives us something to be proud of at the end of the day.
