Kabini Farmers Producer Company Limited

We are located at No 110 on H D Kote Road, right in the Srirampura area of Mysore. This company was started by a group of us farmers who wanted to have a bit more control over what we grow and sell. It's named after the Kabini river because that's what life around here depends on. We don't have a big corporate structure. It's mostly just a few rooms where we meet up to discuss seeds and harvests. The building isn't anything special to look at, but it serves our purpose. Working with a lot of different farmers means there's always something going on. Sometimes there are disagreements about which crops to focus on, but we eventually figure it out. It's a practical way to run things. We deal with the day-to-day realities of farming in Karnataka. Rainfall is always a big topic of conversation here. If the rains are late, everyone is stressed. We spend our time trying to find better ways to get our products to market without losing too much money to middlemen. It’s not easy work, and we aren't getting rich quickly. We just want to make sure the local farming community stays afloat. Being on H D Kote Road makes it easy for people from the surrounding villages to come and see us. It’s a community effort through and through. We just try to help each other out when things get difficult with the crops or the prices.
