Parimala Coffee Works

We have been based here at KR Nagar for quite a while now. Our spot is right by the 1 Main and 2 Cross junction, right next to the busy vegetable market. It’s a lively place to be every morning. You can hear the vendors shouting out prices and the smell of fresh greens is everywhere. We are just a small team working in a space that’s mostly filled with sacks of beans and our roasting equipment. It’s not a fancy showroom or anything like that. The floors are a bit uneven and there is always a layer of coffee dust on the shelves no matter how much we clean. We don't mind it much because it shows we are actually doing something. Most of our day is spent watching the machines and making sure the roast doesn't go too long. It’s a bit of a balancing act. People from the neighborhood stop in to get their weekly supply. We know most of them by their first names or just by what they usually buy. We talk about the rain or how the traffic is getting worse on the main road. We don't have a big mission statement or a fancy philosophy. We just come in, turn on the lights, and get to work. It’s a simple life and it keeps us busy. Sometimes the bags are heavy and our backs ache, but that’s just part of the job. We like being part of the market noise.
