Modern Cafe

Modern Cafe is over at the Dasaprakash Building by K R Circle. If you know Gandhi Square in Mysore, you know exactly where we are located. This building has a lot of history and we are just one small part of it. We aren’t one of those new cafes with minimalist furniture and expensive lattes. We have the old-style tables and chairs. It’s a bit worn out in some places, but that’s just how it is with an old building. People come here for a quick coffee or some tiffin in the morning hours. It’s a very central spot, so there’s always people moving around outside. You can hear the traffic from K R Circle all day long. We don’t have a big corporate team running things here. It’s just us and a few staff members who have been around for a long time. We know a lot of the people who come in by their names. They’ve been coming here for years, maybe even since they were kids. We don't change the menu much. We stick to the basics that everyone likes. It's a simple life running a cafe in Gandhi Square. We open up early and close when the crowd finally thins out. There isn't much more to it than that. If you want a place that feels like old Mysore, you might like sitting here for a bit. We just keep the lights on and the stove going.
